
Sarah Bania-Dobyns, PhD
Director of Research & Innovation
Dr. Sarah Bania-Dobyns is a strategic leader whose work sits at the intersection of health, education, and program and product development. With her combined skills in managing change efforts, user research, and learner-centered design, she has helped organizations translate visions into evidence-based solutions. She has a proven track record leading research projects and teams, building and managing client relationships, and managing complex learning and development projects in matrixed environments. In her consulting work, she has worked with health and science nonprofits, higher education institutions, small businesses, and startups.
In her recent work, she played a critical role in NIH-funded Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) grants, from proposal development, such as project management, user experience research, and content development on mobile health applications. In addition, she serves as a reviewer for the Small Business: Social and Community Influences Across the Lifecourse panel, which reviews SBIR grants.
Dr. Bania-Dobyns earned her Doctorate in International Studies from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, her Master’s of Arts in International Relations from the University of East Anglia, and her Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Oberlin College. She is also certified in Instructional Design from the Instructional Design and Online Learning Academy.
